Volunteering

This opportunity is suitable for Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh participants.

Thinking of volunteering for North Ayrshire Cats Protection??

We foster our cats in care at foster homes in the North Ayrshire area.  Access to a car is an advantage as our cat pens are dotted about North Ayrshire.

We have around 30 active volunteers within the branch doing a wide range of activities to ensure the smooth running of the branch.

A lot of our cat care work is done independently, with interaction with other volunteers at events such as our adoption shows, branch meetings and fundraising events.

We meet once every 2nd month as a team, and outwith that we rely on text and emails to each other to ensure that the needs of the cats are met, together with all the other work required to ensure that the branch is running to meet the needs of the cats in our area.

We do not have an adoption centre, or one location from which the cats and the branch are based.  All our cats are fostered with other volunteers within the branch.

Please look below at the current opportunities within the branch.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Due to the volume of cat care, and everyone involved within the branch are volunteers, we will respond to applicants as soon as we can.

Many thanks.

Cat Care Volunteer

Across Cats Protection our feline friends looking for new homes are cared for either at our adoption centres, by volunteer fosterers in their own homes or in purpose built pens in their gardens. Our cat care volunteers are part of a passionate team that look after and meet the needs of cats whilst they are in our care. This is an exciting role for cat lovers, as our cat care volunteers get to spend time directly with the cats when cleaning their pens, helping with feeding and when enriching their lives before they find their forever homes.

Photo and Video Volunteer

Everyone loves a cute cat picture, and our photo and video volunteers help source, capture and share exciting photos of cats and other images relevant to everything Cats Protection does to help our feline friends. Their photos and images help raise awareness of our fantastic volunteer groups and teams which in turn helps raise funds, raises awareness adopting a Cats Protection cat, helps promote neutering and encourages people to learn more about feline welfare.

Vet Link Volunteer

Our vet link volunteers are the crucial link between local Cats Protection volunteer groups, teams and veterinary surgeries. They help build relationships, raise awareness of Cats Protection and promote our neutering schemes. This is a rewarding volunteer role as you will have a direct impact on helping cats in your local area by spreading the word about Cats Protection and how we help cats in need.
